About Us

Tres Dias is a non-denominational movement, open to any Christian who is interested in deepening their walk with the Lord. 

It developed from Cursillo de Christiandad or “short course in Christianity” that started in Spain during the 1940s. 

Tres Dias started in the US in 1972 and is overseen by Tres Dias International that is made up of laymen and clergy from around the world.

Who Should Attend?

Those with a seeking heart

Just as Christ meets you at your point of need, so TRES DIAS is designed for those who desire to be strengthened in their faith and to be brought closer to Christ in their discipleship. All believers are welcome to attend a weekend. There are weekends for men and there are weekends for women. If you are married, the husband must attend first. Wives usually attend a few weeks later.

Each attendee must not have attended a TRES DIAS, Emmaus, or Cursillo type weekend, and must be sponsored by someone who has.

The Essence​
TRES DIAS, translating to "Three Days," marks a spiritual journey spanning from Thursday evening to Sunday evening. This period is devoted to deepening participants' connections with the principles of Christian life, under the guidance of a team composed of past attendees. These volunteers, having previously navigated the transformative experience of TRES DIAS or similar spiritual weekends like Cursillo or Emmaus Walk, dedicate their time and efforts to prepare for the weekend, aiming to create a supportive and spiritually rich environment.
Core Activities
Central to the TRES DIAS experience are the lay and clergy talks, designed to delve into the fundamentals of Christian life and the practicalities of embodying Christian ideals daily. Following each presentation, participants engage in an interactive exchange that bring the essence of Christ’s teachings to life. This format encourages a dynamic interchange of ideas and experiences, allowing participants to explore their faith in depth and with personal relevance.
Atmosphere​
The atmosphere of TRES DIAS is characterized by an overwhelming sense of love, joy, and Christian fellowship. Days are filled with singing, laughter, worship, and shared experiences that bond participants together in their faith journey. This environment is purposefully cultivated to make the teachings of Christ resonate more deeply with attendees, enhancing their spiritual connection and reinforcing the communal aspect of Christian living.

Distinctively, TRES DIAS is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is not meant to substitute for a traditional retreat or offer the same kind of solitary reflection. Instead, it enriches future Christian experiences with a vibrant zest and deepened understanding of faith that attendees carry forward into all aspects of their lives. When and Where?

Twice each year in Chattanooga, TN

Our weekends are scheduled twice annually. These gatherings take place during the vibrant blossoming of Spring and the reflective, serene ambiance of Fall, specifically earmarked for the first two weeks of April and October. Each TRES DIAS journey commences on a Thursday evening, and concludes on the following Sunday evening,

The chosen venue for these weekends, the Apison Retreat Center, is nestled in the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee, also known as the Scenic City of the South.
